Feb. 16 (UPI) — A South Carolina man making ready to depart for trip managed to say a $300,000 lottery prize simply earlier than departing.

The Upstate man informed South Carolina Schooling Lottery officers he was making preparations to depart for trip when he went to the Publix retailer in Mauldin to purchase a bag of ice.

Whereas on the retailer, the person picked up a Gold Rush scratch-off lottery ticket that turned out to be a $300,000 winner.

The person rushed to the lottery claims middle in Columbia to gather his prize earlier than the workplace closed.

The participant was in a position to money the ticket and head dwelling so he might depart for his journey.

The winner stated he already has plans for his prize cash.

“I am debt free,” he stated.
